Germany’s Deutsche Telekom said Wednesday it will buy France Telecom’s cell phone unit and Orange Netherlands for a reported 1.3 billion euros, or $1.76 billion.
In turn, Deutsche will sell France Telecom Spanish Internet provider Ya.com for 320 million euros or $432.42 million.
The Deutsche Telekom-Orange deal faces Dutch regulatory approvals. If the sale is completed it would make Deutsche Telekom the second largest cell phone provider in the Netherlands.
